The most bizarre thing is, accusations of brutality aside, there was clearly nothing racial about this. There was even a similar case with a white person just a few years back. This incident that set off so much racial chaos had no evidence at all pointing to it being because of race.

Some might argue that no one calls the police on a white person who tries to pass fake bills, and I would tend to agree.  And some would argue that police would have given a warning to a white guy, but see it as "very serious" when the suspect is Black

@Anthony L Assuming that "black people" are more likely to experience heavier scrutiny from authority, what are some of the reasons that might be? A) it could be that the police are prejudiced against them because of their race. How likely is this? What does a police officer have to personally gain from scrutinizing a "black" person more heavily than they would a "white" person? What is the likelihood that one is going to go through the process of becoming an agent of law enforcement just to risk throwing it away by racist action?

B) the areas populated by a majority of those of different races/ethnicities tend to have different degrees of crime, due to differences in economic status, values, opportunities, etc. Naturally, people living in these areas are going to be under heavier scrutiny than their corresponding differently-populated communities. What communities have the most crime? Majority-African ones, obviously. How are we to say to what degree the police's over-action in these areas are borne of racial bigotry and to what degree they're due to the rate of crime/proportional level of threat?

Of course, the reasonable assumption is that both of these factors have a role in issues of police brutality/prejudice. But which do you think is more likely/relevant on a trend level?

@ConManliness    A) It could be that prejudice in training and police culture, along with the drive to fit in with colleagues and peers, influence police officers to match previous ongoing culture, leading to a continuous cycle of internally repeated prejudices (some obvious and some subtle).   And the "why would they ever do that when they have so much to lose" defense falls way short, because people get involved in all sorts of things that bring their lives down around them, despite so many potential reasons to stay within the rules.

B) A lot of this comes down to the historical legacy of anti-Black racism and default/implicit anti-Black bias in the last 60 years or so, really back farther, when it comes to housing, real estate, and banking.  These among other things have led to segregated city areas, where non-Blacks receive less resistance to being incorporated into areas of cities with less crime.

Take a look at these links and tell me what you think.  I know it's a tough subject with few obvious answers.  I am just very hesitant to absolve policing of being a major component.  Policing philosophy, not most actual officers.

This is explained by the fact that the media is anti-White.  They will use any story they can to fuel the narrative that White people are evil oppressors, and any White person who stands up for his/herself and our people is a "white supremacist".  Until we defend ourselves as a race, it is going to continue to get worse and worse.  Whites are already a minority of births in the US.  We will not be treated well as as a hated minority, which is why we need to stand up for ourselves now.

@Anthony L - That's total BS. White male, Tony Timpa called 911 for help in 2016 and police handcuffed him, placed him face down in the ground, and put their knee on his back for 14 minutes and killed him. Police laughed and joked while Tony struggled and died from their knee compression. Tony didn't commit a crime and he wasn't high on drugs like George Floyd, he was just off his medications. For every unarmed black man killed by police, there are 2 to 3 white men killed the exact same way, but the media ignores their stories. Nobody care about white men killed by police, only black men.

@Anthony L -  Look at you with your anti-racism BS. Do you know about police killing of unarmed white male, Daniel Shaver in the hallway of a motel room in Mesa, AZ a few years ago, pleading with police to not shoot him? He was crawling on his belly toward police when he pants fell down and when he reach down to pull them up the police unloaded their guns on him. Why don't you know about Tony Timpa or Daniel Shaver? BLM protests police brutality against blacks while ignoring instances of it happening to whites, Hispanics, or Asians. Anti-racists like you and BLM only care about blacks and no one else. You are such racists.

The police shot and killed Duncan, who was a software developer, through the bedroom window and managed to shoot his pregnant girlfriend, too. Everyone knows the name of Breona Taylor, but nobody has heard of Duncan Lemp, why is that? Could it be the media only care about black men killed by police and chooses to ignore white men? @Anthony L - Black Harvard professor Roland Fryer disproved your police bias in shootings of black people years ago in his well documented study.

"The paper for the National Bureau of Economic Research, which examined thousands of incidents at 10 large police departments in California, Florida and Texas, concluded that police were no more likely to shoot non-whites than whites after factoring in extenuating circumstances.

“On the most extreme use of force — officer-involved shootings — we find no racial differences in either the raw data or when contextual factors are taken into account,” said Harvard economics professor Roland G. Fryer Jr. in the abstract of the July 2016 paper.

Mr. Fryer, who is black, told The New York Times that the finding of no racial discrimination in police shootings was “the most surprising result of my career.”

Another case where MSmedia lied, distorted facts & misinformed the public regarding police apprehending/resisting arrest case.  We’ve seen this trend with Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown (Hands Up Don’t Shoot), Freddy Gray, Rayshard Brooks (Atlanta), Jacob Blake (Kenosha WI), & w George Floyd.

US MSmedia (esp CNN, MSDNC) literally misrepresents facts, whips certain groups into a frenzy & never retracts their false stories & watches incredible destructive riots break out.  Its all about feeding a narrative that police are hunting black men & must be defunded or “reimagined” which is another step in the Progressive Democrat movement toward a socialist dystopia ergo Portland, Ca, NY.  The Police are #1 on Leftist agenda to be taken out.   In this case MN Far Left, Progressive Dem, Atty General Keith Ellison, is coming after Police.

I think there maybe some negligence on failure to give aid.  But he asked if he should ride in the ambulance, and I'm sure that's not a pleasant ride.   I will assume like most video productions the video and timeline has been edited and that they watched the totality of the content and pared it down from there, it would include all the officers comments and actions  real time. This is not the court video content. That's why I would like to see that break down.  The drugs found in his system at autopsy along with fluid in the lungs does create a reasonable doubt along with his actions on camera also supporting the fact he was acting incoherently and agitated.  I think part of the problem with the public reaction is that the officers seem so callous, in actuality this excited delirium is pretty prevalent across the country with increased drug us and any seemed callousness by the officers is probably because they have seen it before.  However your conspiracy theory and I have read several others similar that some how multiple people coordinated to induce drugs into his system post mortem as a cover cover up is beyond a reasonable doubt and takes a lot of imagination..

Sorry my comment was supposed to go above.  Totally agree with you that all these cases have been overturned in a court of law opposite of public opinion.  Crump, Blm and others that inflame the communities before these things get a minute to go through the process should be held responsible.  It would be nice if they fast tracked them though.  These cases should go quickly up due process.  I'm not saying rush them.  But obviously make sure they are prioritized in the court dockets and handling so it doesn't take  3 years to settle.  Its not fair to the officers accused or the family of the victims.

Once he was on the ground and was under control, the cops did call an ambulance, code 2. And as his condition worsened, in a matter of minutes they raised that ambulance call to code 3. So they were aware and made the effort, contrary to what you write. ? How were they to know that he had overdosed on fentanyl and his lungs were so full of fluid that they couldn't absorb oxygen? They're not doctors. They had the misfortune of having to deal with a criminal who was in the process of killing himself. And there wasn't enough time to save him. The officers did all they could be expected to do. Regarding the people on the sidewalk, they were part of the problem. The officers had to pay close attention to them because they were hostile, and they were a distraction for the officers. Officers always have to be carefully aware of citizens who interfere because they never know when one of them is armed and has evil intentions. As we've seen lately, killers appear out of nowhere to kill police officers.

"Why did the prosecutors keep the toxicology information to themselves and not share it with the public for three months?" Answer: Because they had made a terrible mistake in charging the officers, and were at least partly responsible for the chaos that resulted across the country and they didn't have the fortitude to admit their mistake. "Why are these police officers still being held and prosecuted?" Answer: Because the prosecutors will not admit their mistake. If they did, certainly there would be an investigation into their actions and possibly severe discipline for them. Plus, if the admitted they improperly charged the officers, they would implicitly be admitting they are partly responsible for the rampage that has done serious damage to our country. So instead, they soldier on. unjustly prosecuting officers officers who did nothing wrong.

This case was handled inappropriately imo. The normal way to handle a case like this is to suspend the officers or assign them desk duty, conduct an investigation gathering all the information, and then make a decision on discipline and/or criminal charges. In this case. the MPD and the prosecutor, under the pressure of mob violence and intimidation, made hasty and ill-considered judgments without knowing all the facts and reached the wrong conclusion. It sure looks like a case of malpractice.

If Ellison wins in court and the officers aren't given life in prison or executed - more riots. It's a Win Win for Keith Ellison and democrats either way... The fact he said he was claustrophobic should have made the officers think about the size of the vehicle (how small it was in the back especially since he is handcuffed he felt even more confined). The officer also cursed at him and seemed to be hostile even when Floyd was trying to explain to him how he was afraid and did not want to get shot. It was definitely obvious that he was suffering from PTSD. His strange mannerism most definitely could have been from his fear of the police and possibly being harmed. Most people do not react calmly in this sort of situation.

His oxygen levels in his blood were probably in at least the low 90s and dropping fast. This could account for the aggressive behavior. Did he ever disclose to the officers that he was taking opiates in the video? I wonder if opiate antidotes could have saved him.

Message: All you have to do is place the facts over your emotions and everything becomes clear. The police were the only ones trying to save George Floyd. Even his sister ran away and abandoned him. The facts are there and it's just another street overdose. But the media decided to spin it another way and we good taxpayers are carrying that financial burden of all that unnecessary violence.. What a shame. I read that Ben Crump, the family's attorney, saw this documentary and bellowed "it's clear that he was killed by excessive racism." What is wrong with this world?? Everyone has some stupid narrative.

Name: Yaakov Levy

Message: I realize this man is a veteran pro. However, the crucial point was not addressed sufficiently! It's understood that Floyd was on the way to dying that day due to OD/health conditions. But the video shows him dying under the knee of Chauvin. The video says that Chauvin did not apply severe pressure because he raised it a couple times when Floyd raised his head. How can you prove this? You can't prove or indicate what kind of pressure was on his neck. On the contrary, it appears that there is notable pressure on his neck. Now, in talking with police, I understand that the knee-neck tactic allows breathing because it's only one side and not on windpipe. However, an this is crucial: the video shows Floyd dying under his knee. It is perfectly clear. It is counterindicatory to pose that the knee did not expedite his death. Also, the narrator does not acknowledge how they tried to shove him in the car. For me, my question is this: How do you prove to the general public that the knee-neck did not contribute to or expedite his death? I don't see any way to do that.

It’s a terrifying situation for a cop to deal with.

You’ve got a subject who is 6’4,” 223 lbs., obviously strung out on drugs (he eventually confessed

to having been “hooping”), and apparently an Emotionally Disturbed Person (EDP).

The subject is physically capable of disarming a policeman, and killing all of the officers at the crime scene, which has been known to happen in cases where officers used insufficient force. (Never mind that, as George Parry points out, the cops don’t even know if the subject is armed.)

Meanwhile, you have civilians who are interfering with, and distracting you from doing your job, who act as if the perp were the victim, and as if you were the perp.

You’re using the techniques you were taught at the academy to use in such a situation, trying to stay alive and keep your job and your liberty, while being increasingly aware that guilty bystanders and the evil media stand ready to make this guy the next Rodney King, another perp who was turned into a vic, and who served to railroad two innocent, White cops.

Dont know if he was fundamentally EDP, but the prospect of going back to prison, combined with a bizarre sense that you are somehow drowning would set anyone off

You can tell he's terrified of returning to prison when he repeatedly pleads "I'm not that guy." What guy? The guy who committed the armed robbery years before that the LEOs would have discovered

And I see that struggle to stay out of the vehicle as his last ditch attempt to avoid prison. In his mind if they get him in the car and to the station, thats the irrevocable step back to prison

And wouldnt flip out about asense of drowning coupled with crushing chest psins

As for George Parry’s mention of the prosecutor sitting on exculpatory evidence for almost three months, said evidence is legally known as “Brady material.” As per the Supreme Court, it is unconstitutional for the prosecution to fail to turn over all Brady material to the defense.

Why would “the prosecutor” suppress evidence he is legally obligated to release? The prosecutor in question is black supremacist Keith Ellison, a member of the murder cult, the Nation of Islam, which has slaughtered over 90 Whites, and maimed numerous other Whites.

In a sane world, Ellison’s membership in the NOI would preclude his being permitted to practice law, let alone serve as Minnesota’s attorney general.

When I read the autopsy of George Floyd and the kind of drugs that were in his system, I knew he didn't die because of Chauvin. This same kind of thing happened to a guy arrested in Staten Island several years back who so wildly resisted arrest that there were about five NYPD cops trying to restrain him. He died of a heart attack and the police were blamed, naturally.

Right after this incident happened, Sharyl Attkisson had the both the first video of the incident showing the policeman with his knee on Floyd's neck, which was on the news all over the country, and a second video showing the police trying to get him into the squad car. That second video included the part where a standing Floyd said he was claustrophobic and couldn't breathe. When I went to make a comment on another article about the incident, I was going to include info from the second video but found that the link no longer worked. I can only conclude that the media blocked the second video to create a false narrative.

Everyone needs to see this video because unless the prosecuting attorneys are completely corrupt, which is a possibility, these policemen should immediately be returned to duty and the media called out for their corruption. Antifa and BLM need to be brought to justice for their destruction and treason.

The Minnesota AG is Keith Ellison, who is as morally and intellectually corrupt as a politician could be. That's why the case against the officers is going forward when no fair-minded jury would convict them.

George Floyd was not murdered,he killed himself.

He killed himself when he took fentanyl, which shuts down breathing, and meth, which overstresses the heart, while having coronary disease, and then put himself into a lot of stress by getting arrested for passing counterfeit money,a Federal crime. He was likely already dying when he was peacefully placed in the police cruiser after being handcuffed, and he was complaining of breathing difficulty while in the cruiser. Just before he panicked and thrust himself out of the cruiser, dropping onto the ground (a drop of a couple feet onto pavement),where the officer pinned him down. He died of a heart attack, not asphyxiation, his breathing was never cut off.

Caused by his taking fentanyl and meth, while having coronary disease.

Floyd died of a heart attack caused by pulmonary edema, per the coroner's report The fentanyl he took was hindering (shutting down?) his breathing, same as it did for anyone who OD'd on fentanyl. Then the METH he took made his heart go berserk, which is why meth is called "speed",it put a terrible strain on Floyd's heart. Which was already compromised by coronary disease, and his breathing possibly compromised by Wuhan flu. Then add in the stress of being arrested, and a likely panic attack.

It's no wonder that Floyd's heart vaporlocked.

Floyd was likely "circling the drain",already in the process of dying before he thrust himself out of the cruiser while handcuffed.

Court TV Live ran a segment 3 days ago showing the body cam footage from a George Floyd arrest the previous year. He said the same things and did the same things to the cops then too.

BTW in the 2020 footage George Floyd is clearly screaming "I can't breathe" while he's sitting in the back seat of the police car with no one touching him. This was his routine.

But the lungs were not functioning sufficiently because of the edema from the drugs he took. This made him feel desperate for more air but unable to assimilate it from his lungs regardless of his position. His heart was beating too fast and needed more oxygen to support the activity and unable to get it from his circulatory and pulmonary systems.

There was nothing the police could do except call for an ambulance (which they did) and keep him as still as possible, so he did not run up an even worse oxygen debt by running around (which they did).

While the knee to the neck may be a technique legally in use at the time and from the training manual I would suggest appearances can deceive. It is best if police do not use techniques like this as a means of restraint. Imagine what would have been avoided. Floyd, in his obviously drugged condition was not going to run anywhere. He could hardly walk. Are these officers guilty of murder, no. They are victims of poor training and tactics that they have learned to apply in all situations indiscriminately. I saw no reason for a knee to be applied to his neck in this instance.

Just my opinion, but I think the passenger in Floyd's car was warning him that cops were approaching while Floyd kept his back to the window. Then he pretended to act so surprised when they showed up. He's claustrophobic but had no problem driving a small car he could barely fit in. Passenger trying to distract police. When the car door was opened Floyd put his right arm down in a very suspicious manner--could have been reaching for a gun or who knows what else. Either way, would you take a chance as to what he was doing?

They gave him every chance to cooperate yet he chose not to. It's very simple: just do what the cops tell you to.

Evidence does not support your claim. At no time was Chauvin's knee on Floyd's neck for more than five seconds at a time. He performed the approved protocol for subduing and keeping a suspected overdoes victim from harming himself or others. He violently resisted arrest and showed signs of excited delirium prompting the police to send an ambulance.. Floyd George killed himself by ingesting high levels of fentanyl that were over three times higher than the maximum PPM generally considered lethal. get your facts straight..

"Experts hired by George Floyd's family and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner have concluded his death was a homicide, but they differ on what caused it. The independent autopsy says Floyd died of "asphyxiation from sustained pressure" when his neck and back were compressed by Minneapolis police officers during his arrest last week. The pressure cut off blood flow to his brain, that autopsy determined."

The other three officers, previously uncharged, face counts of aiding and abetting murder.

Announcing the new charges, Minnesota's Attorney General Keith Ellison said that they were in the interests of justice."

Untrue. There is no claim of asphyxiation. The initial report was ordered re-written (by the hyper-partisan Islamist AG) to suggest the police aided his death, but the courts will decide based on evidence and the evidence exonerates the police. Proof is in the Star Tribs reports and the inconsistencies of the M.E.s report. The hands of Ellison are all over this yet. The suppression of the video evidence and full toxicology report paints a much different picture putting the death squarely on Floyd George.

“None of these guys — even Chauvin — actually killed him," said the attorney, Earl Gray. "He killed himself."

Free to speak publicly since a judge lifted a gag order on all parties in the case late last month, Gray said he plans to argue that Floyd died from an overdose of the powerful opioid fentanyl and an underlying heart condition.

"We are going to show that my client and the other cops were doing their jobs," he said.

The veteran criminal defense attorney said he will base his case on toxicology and autopsy reports as well as recently released police body camera footage that offers a fuller picture than the cellphone videos taken by people on the street."

-Star/Tribune

Earl Grey is a prominent local attorney for the defense who does not lose cases. You are mythologizing a black criminal thug who committed a crime resisted arrest and ingested lethal quantities of drugs. Those are the facts.

He was so intoxicated and uncoordinated that he could hardly walk why was the knee restraint to the neck necessary in this case? He was not murdered but it sure looked like it. Was he going to die in 10 minutes or 60 minutes without the actions of the police? I believe they precipitated his death.

I am not sure how the law treats this. If a person has a fatal dose of fentanyl but has not yet died and the police using legal restraining methods precipitate his death are they guilty of murder? That is a question for the jury. Only one officer had his knee on the neck. Why charge all of them with murder? None of the officers are medial professionals they made mistakes but are they guilty of the murder of a drug user with a fatal dose? I don't think so.

The two autopsy reports were done before the fatal level of fentanyl was revealed. Why? That's an excellent question; apparently your side has a lot to hide.

"The autopsy revealed no physical evidence suggesting that Mr. Floyd

died of asphyxiation," Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew

Baker told the prosecutor's office, according to the May 26 memo. The autopsy was incomplete, it said, pending a toxicology report."
